some random pics of my cheerleaders

Football season is over and now we are having try-outs for basketball. I have had such fun coaching these girls. They truely are amazing and so much fun. Scott loves to hang out with them all and of course they just fawn all over him!! Congrats girls to a great season!!!

Trick or Treat at the college

Last night it was trick or treat night at the college. Scott is BEN 10 this year and had lots of fun!! He decorated 2 different pumpkins and won a beanie baby stork in one of the dorms playing games. Scott was brave and also went thru one floor at the SCARY DORM....we did NOT make it through all levels....lol He was TOO SCARED!! Tomorrow night is the official trick or treat night but we only go to people we know and to the group home that I manage.

Pumpkin carving 2008

Monday night 10/27/08 David came over to assist Scott in carving his pumpkin as they do each year. After much grumping and cursing the end result was awesome!! Of course Scott chose the most difficult pattern but he and daddy got it complete and it is glowing out on the front porch.

What a wonderful FALL DAY!!!

Scott and I arrived home today at the exact same time. As the bus came to a halt he cam blasting off and ran all the way down the block to jump on me asking to PLEEEAAAAAASEEEEE rake the leaves so he could play in them. He is such a good little worker!! He raked most of the front yard and then instantly begged to call Ryan and see if he could come over and "jump" in them, which of course they did. They had a blast and even Kelsey joined in. (although I failed to get a pic of her darn it!! sorry kelsey!!) It's days like this that remind of what a great kid Scott is. After a couple of hours of playing in the leaves we all went to DQ for supper. What a great fall evening!! Thanks Tracy, Ryan and Kelsey for a fun night!!

The end of Football 2008

Well the season ended yesterday. Scott enjoyed his first year, however he says he does NOT want to play next year, so we will see. He really did have lots of fun and made some new friends in older grades. His league was for 1st-3rd grade. Scott being a 1st grader was a bit of a struggle since he had NO CLUE how to play the game or what was supposed to happen.

The pics are of Scott awaiting his trophy, gatorade and snack and once he received his rewards!! lol Scott is very proud of his trophy and has insisted that mommy leave it out for everyone to see!! Well Football down and soon it will be basketball time.

hugs

Hilger's 2008

Well every year since Scott was born we have taken him here and got pictures of him in the pumpkin pit. This year (10/4/08) he invited along some friends (as did mommy) and we all had a blast.
We went thru the haunted attic (which was not too scary) and all the boys played on the swings, rode a train, ran an obstacle course and played in the hay etc. Once we were done there we went on into Ft. Wayne and ate at Burger King with the huge playland on dupont road. The kids as well as the adults were exhausted. Scott had Jordan spend the night and they had a blast. Scott and I each enjoy getting together with Angell, Jordan, Paige, Lexi and Lisa, Nicholas and Sammy. Thanks guys for joining us and allowing Scott to have the best time. We hope to keep up the monthly outings. Scott is now looking forward to all of you coming down to trick or treat with us at the college in a few weeks!!

Yet another Monday.....

Had cheerleading practice this afternoon. Practice went well and the girls learned another new cheer that they will use for basketball season. I am so proud of them. They all catch on quick and work to perfect each new cheer. Above you see the squad for Football 2008. They really are a great bunch of girls!! Scott stayed after school to "assist" mommy but decided quickly that going with gramma and grampa out to eat was much more fun for him, so they picked him up from practice and took him to McDonald's for supper.
